A Festival of Independent Student Work

The Playground Festival is the annual student theatre festival held by the Carnegie Mellon University School of Drama. For one week of the year, student performers/designers/directors/technicians come together to conceive, produce, and perform over 50 student run productions for free admission to the student body. It is one of the most unique student theatre festivals of Drama conservatories throughout the country, and has been used as a model for adopting similar festivals at other colleges and universities.

As an entirely student-run festival that receives little to no funding from the main production budget of the University, we have set the precedents and standards for ourselves, to use as an opportunity to practice such event planning and implementation in the professional world. For the past two years, I have served the Committee as the Graphics Designer and Design Coordinator.
