the playground festival

a festival of independent student work

the playground festival is the annual student theatre festival held by the carnegie mellon university school of drama. for one week of the year, student performers/designers/directors/technicians come together to conceive, produce, and perform over 50 student run productions for free admission to the student body. it is one of the most unique student theatre festivals of drama conservatories throughout the country, and has been used as a model for adopting similar festivals at other colleges and universities.

as an entirely student-run festival that receives no funding from the main budget of the university, we have set the  standards for ourselves as an opportunity to practice event planning and graphic implementation in the professional world. for my final two years at cmu, I served the committee as the graphics designer and design coordinator.
